Fall Nail Art | Design Ideas for Beginners

Fall Nail Art | L'Oreal Paris Grenat Irreverent

If you’re in the northern hemisphere you would likely be heading well into fall or as we say in Australia, autumn. I’m loving seeing all of the fall nail art and while I’m headed into spring I’ve been inspired to create two fall designs, the second design will be posted next week. I’ve tried to keep these designs simple so that they can be easily followed or adjusted. You don’t need any special equipment or polishes for this design. You only need some pretty colours that you enjoy.

Don’t forget to tag me on any social media platform if you do give this design ago!

Fall Nail Art | Base Shade

Fall nail art typically include browns, deep reds and oranges. Based on this I selected L’oreal Paris – Grenat Irreverent a dark brown with a touch of red in the shade. As this polish is quite opaque I only applied 2 coats.

For this design, you can select any colour you like. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a dark shade it could be something lighter like orange or any nude.

Time for Fall Nail Art

Once your base is dry you can add the fall nail art. This is where the fun starts and you can be as creative as much as you like!!

For this design, I’ll be applying some stamped leaves onto an accent nail followed by a coat of ILNP – The Magician.

Fall Nail Art

I used Maniololgy plate BM-707 and MDU stamping polish Geranium, a bright orange polish(use my code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology.com).

Given that the base polish I’m using is so dark I wasn’t sure what would work and show up clearly. I initially attempted to use the IT Color by OPI but it was too opaque. This is why if you’re not sure what colour will work its best to test things out, even just on a piece of paper.

Fall Nail Art

The technique of creating an accent nail can be applied to so many different designs making it such a versitile design pattern. You can use a range of techniques for the accent nail. Some fall nail art ideas include:

  • Nature Stickers or Water decals
  • Alternative colour eg an orange for the accent nail and brown for the other nails (I recommend trying out a few combos to make sure the colours work together before painting your nails)
  • Some dots running down your nail eg one large dot in the top centre of your nail, followed by two smaller dots

I’m sure that there are many more ideas you can come up with just using the tools you have nearby.

Overall

I hope you got some fall nail art inspiration. I’d love to see your designs. If you give this a go tag me in your post! I would love to see your design.
