Maniology Game Over: Insert Coin | Stamping Plate Review

Maniology Game Over: Insert Coin M050 | Gaming Themed Nail Art Design

Game Over: Insert Coin is a gaming themed maniology stamping plate that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I picked this plate up in my latest Maniology purchase and used it as soon as Easter was over.

The Base

I was struggling to pick out the images for this design as I wanted to use them all! So I ended up creating two slightly different themes for each hand. The first hand is Mario themed. The second hand is more of a retro gaming theme.

For the Mario theme, I used two polishes for the base colour.

  • Green – My Dogsled is a hybrid – OPI
  • bLUE – Rich Girls and Po Boys – OPI

The blue would form the background for the Mario game whereas the green was planned to be used for the gaming messages.

The retro-themed gaming design used three different polishes

  • Blue sparkle – Celestial – Maniology
  • White – Alpine Snow – OPI
  • Brown – Nirvana – Sinful colours

I wasn’t quite sure what I would do on a few of the white nails at this point. So I decided to just go with it and see what would happen.

Now onto the fun part. With plate M050, Game Over: Insert Coin by Maniology, I decided to use a combination of stamping and reverse stamping for this design (get 10% off Maniology with code THENAILCHRONCLE).

For all of the black outlines, I used Konad Black stamping polish. See below for the list of polishes I used in the reverse stamping

Mario

  • Green Ulta3 – Jelly
  • David Jones – Souzize – Yellow
  • brown – Nirvana – Sinful colours

Retro

  • Game Controller – ILNP fired up and
  • maniology phantom – purple
  • white Alpine Snow – OPI

As usual, I added the stamped images on my mat and began to fill them in. As I was only filling in 3 images I decided to take the risk and not create any spares. Plus the Mario image was quite a bit bigger than my nail so I would have some to spare.

During the colouring in, I did damage one of the decals. With some care, I managed to pick up the damaged part on my stamper and then re-add it back to the image on my mat. I’m so glad this worked as I was about halfway through the design.

The design was finished off with Maniology Smudge-free top coat and then OPI Start to Finish.

Overall

I’m in love with the Maniology Game Over: Insert Coin stamping and can’t wait to create more designs!!

Let me know which hand design is your favourite, Mario or Retro??
