May the 4th be With You Nail Art

We’re back for another May the 4th be with you nail art design. Last year I created a design featuring sith lords and this year I will use the same plate but with a twist!!

I struggled with picking the colours for this design especially for the sith lords. In the end, I selected blue as the theme colour with space and coldness in mind. I applied a coat of China Glaze – Flyin High. This is a darker shade but not too dark that it would be hard to see the stamping. My partner suggested that I add a glittery top coat so I applied OPI – Let Love Sparkle, which is part of the Hello Kitty collection.

To the accent nail, I added Maniology – Celestial, a colour I’ve become a little obsessed with ever since I got it as part of the mystery bundle.

For the nail art component, I used two different stamping plates with the basic stamping technique. The main plate I used was IT Girl – LE 105 the same plate I used last year, mostly because it’s the only star wars themed plate that I own. From this plate, I used the top three images featuring Star Wars Sith Lords. The rest of the plate features other villains from sci-fi shows/games such as Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Transformers.

The second plate is Maniology – Game Over, M050 (get 10% off Maniology with code THENAILCHRONICLE). I used the space image on my accent nail with a white polish.

Once the nails were stamped I added the usual Maniology Smudge Free Topcoat, followed by OPI start to finish.

Overall

I love the contrast between the light and dark blue with the different stamped polishes. I’m really happy with how the design turned out and am so glad for the suggestion to add the sparkly top coat! It really makes the design pop.

Let me know in the comments how you are celebrating May the 4th be with you day.
