Happy Halloween month aka October!! For this first design, I’m using a new Maniology plate that I picked up at the beginning of the year and have been hanging out to use. To start things off I decided to keep the design pretty basic with just a small amount of reverse stamping to create this cute Halloween Nail Art.
Spooky Green Base
I was recently gifted a bunch of nail polish from a colleague who wasn’t using them and was planning to throw them out, so I’ve been trying to work my way through each colour. I selected Acid House (361) by Rimmel London for this design. This is a dark green polish that includes some subtle metallic flecks making it the perfect shade for Halloween.
The polish lasted really well even though I was using a peel-off base coat*. It has such a pretty sparkle to it, I would even just love to wear the shade as is, without any nail art.
*My hands have been reacting a little to nail polish remover lately so I’m having to use a peel-off base coat for all designs to minimise the use of nail polish remover.
Cute Halloween Nail Art – Nail Stamping
For the stamping component of this design, I used Maniology plate M253, a plate filled with really cute Halloween images (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology).
Because the green base is so dark I decided to use white for the stamping. I don’t have any white stamping polish at the moment however Snow by China Glaze managed to do the job. I added a few images to the stamping mat, given that I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for the reverse stamping. In the end, I selected two images to reverse stamping a skull with a bow and the witch.
I used Rimmel London – Strawberry fizz (025) for the skull bow, to add a pop of bright colour. For the witch’s dress, I used Hit the bottle Ice Mauve-jito 2.0 a light purple so that it matched the bow.
Unfortunately, the witch’s dress was a little damaged when I added the decal to my nail.
Overall
Overall this Cute Halloween Nail design was a great way to kick off my Halloween series.
Let me know in the comments what Halloween nails or costumes you will be wearing this year.
