Rabbits and Carrots | Easter Nail Art 2020 #2

Rabbit and Carrot | Easter Nail Art

Easter is just 1 week away!! It doesn’t feel like it though. In Sydney, daylight savings has just finished, which I’m very glad about! It means for at least the next two weeks I won’t be waking up in the dark. This week I decided to create another Easter Nail Art Design, Rabbits and Carrots.

This post contains affiliate links. It won’t cost you anything extra but will give me a small bonus. Thanks for your support!

The Base

For this design, I started by choosing the decals first which I’ll get into further down the post. I was torn between a beautiful pastel purple shade by Butter London called Molly Coddled or a green sparkly shade Alohomore by Glam Polish. After changing my 50 times I ended up settling on the green. I felt that it would work better with the colours I had in mind for the decals.

While Alohomore is a beautiful shade, it takes three to four coats to become fully opaque. If I’m not adding any nail art then four coats are certainly required. This is why I was a little reluctant to use it. In the end, I’m glad I went with this shade.

Using a combination of three different stamping plates enabled me to create this design. The rabbits were the easiest, after finding some small rabbits on plate BM-724 by Maniology I stamped this straight on my nail using Konad black stamping polish (use code THENAILCHRONICLE for 10% off Maniology).

To create the carrots, I used a plate from the Maniology Kawaii Emoji collection plate, BM-XL322. I stamped four images with Konad black stamping polish onto my stamping mat. Using Nails Inc, Porchester Place I filled in the carrot. It was challenging selecting an orange shade. After a while of looking at many shades of orange, I began to forget what colour carrots are!  I ended up picking two polishes that I thought were close to the shade I was after and placing them against the real carrots. Using a dotting tool, I carefully filled in the carrots.

The last decal that I created was the Easter egg that was created with plate Maniology M090. I stamped on a squiggly line pattern with Geranium by Mundo De Unas. Using a dotting tool I then removed some of the lines. This can be done by gently rubbing along the area that you want to remove. In the newly created gaps, using a large dotting tool I applied three dark green dots with the polish Tree of Life by BMC who are now known as Maniology.

Easter Egg Nail Art

For both the carrots and Easter eggs I applied a clear top polish and waited for this to dry before carefully lifting the decal with my tweezers.

Overall

These took quite a while but the effort was worth it! I love how they turned out.
