OPI rapidry spray | Nail Polish Dryer Review

OPI Rapidry | Nail Polish Dryer in a plastic bottle being help by a hand with blue painted nails

Before I get into this a big thanks to my friend who gave the OPI Rapidry spray to me for my birthday. Its always fun trying out new items, especially when its nail related. The rapidry really captured my interest. I had heard about products like this before but never considered trying them as I was always sceptical as to whether this would actually work. So when I tested this OPI rapidry spray out I went into it with an open mind.

Rapidry Packaging and Instructions

The spray comes in a simple plastic spray bottle that made the product easy to use and apply. The spray function works well and the bottle felt sturdy and didn’t leak everywhere which is always a bonus!

The instructions are simple and are provided in many languages. Although I was a little confused about why I would wait for the last coat to use the product, so I decided that some testing was needed.

Let the testing begin!!

The took two approaches to test OPI Rapidry, firstly I wanted to make sure that I’m not being tricked by a placebo effect and secondly see if it would work on non-OPI polishes.

I started out by trying it on the Smith and Cult polish, Darjeeling Darling as I had major issues with the blue polish Birdie Num Num taking a super long time to try. I tried out the spray on my thumb as if this went wrong it would be easier to hide. To try and keep the variables the same I also applied a coat of polish to my other thumb. To my surprise, my right thumb where I had applied the spray, dried a lot faster than my left hand.

For my second test, I tried the spray on an actual OPI polish, Tickle My France-y. Once again my thumbs were in the firing line. The results were great. I feel like it worked slightly better than when I tried the spray on the Smith and Cult Polish.

So, does OPI rapidry work??

After my experiments, I’m pleasantly surprised to say that this does work. I was very sceptical as I’ve seen reviews of similar products that just didn’t work.

One test that I didn’t try was my whole hand, so I gave that a go as I was writing this review. I would share too many details as this will spoil next weeks post. However, I will say that it included 4 nails with OPI and 1 with ILNP. The spray worked just as well as it did on my thumbs.

So if your wanting to complete your mani’s faster I would give the OPI Rapidry Spray ago!
